http://ftp.egr.msu.edu/debian/dists/etch/main/installer-i386/current//images/floppy/
PCMCIA support is built into the net drivers floppies.
In the end, I installed Xubuntu using the open-up&shove-hdd-in-faster-comp method
i.e, I opened the laptop up and shoved the hdd in a TP 600x. The method would probably work on any PC.
I have still yet to get the sound working tho.

I agree completely! It is good to question what scientists tell us, and natural to apply logical questions to any theory. When I actually thought about it for a while, I asked: "How can something living spontaneously spring forth from something non-living? And, even if that were somehow to miraculously happen, what would that new living thing eat? Don't all living things eat something that is either living, or was living? So what did the first thing eat?

Then comes your proper question about reproduction. You obviously know more than I do about what an early life form might have been.... how could it reproduce?

Anyway... glad to know I am not alone... even though your post is nearly 20 months old, here is my reply!

Because its good for carrying out repititive mathematical tasks and is very simple. Other languages are too camplicated for maths really, and maths programs arent that fast for doing loops.

Reading bbc news this morning, it looks like Iran wants the UK/US to turn over Iranian prisoners held in Iraq, almost as an exchange.

I can't see this happening though.

I think Iran may have done this as a show of power - but all they've done is make themselves look pirates, and not the cool kind.

I agree!

The question is what benefits did Iran get out of this? It all feels so staged by them so they must have had an agenda behind it. I can't see (yet) why they did it.
