Saw these guys last night at the koko. They were supported by Astral Doors who were awesome. BG played the song I wanted them to - Bright eyes, so I was very happy
I went with one of hte guitarists from my band. After an uneventful journey we got to Camden at 1ish. I grabbed some cheap KFC from the place next to camden town station, opposite hte underworld - £3 for several pieces of chicken and loads of fries + coke
We then wondered around and ended up in Morrisons, where I grabbed some cookies and Graeme found some doughnuts and we each got a bottle of HobGoblin (Dark Ale :D). After eating food in the car park we headed off to the canal to drink the ale. Then it was off to the Worlds End pub where we were going to meet some people, but were asked to leave as not all off us were 18
So we went to the Koko and queued for 2 hours. Eventually, the doors opened. Got a T shirt and headed off to the front, where I stayed until halfway through, when I headed up to the balcony to check out hte view / sound.
Unfortunately, the Koko sucks for gigs. Its meant for playing bad indie club nights. The first band had their own amps and cabs, and sounded pretty good. When BG came on, they were all using hte house PA - This resulted in the guitars being too quiet, and hte lead guitar had an awful tone - bad effects or something :s I also struggles to hear the singers from both bands clearly, whether this was due to them or the PA I couldnt tell.
But still, was a good day ![]()
C++ September 25, 2006

I’ve been tinkering in C++ again. I was stuck for ideas on something to program, so G set me the task of writing a program that would swap two variables. Not too tricky, but it took me a while to get the logic right. Here it is :
// c++ that asks for two variables and then swaps them around
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
//function to define two variables via user input
int x;
int y;
void variabledefine ()
{
cout << “Please define integer variables X and Y” << endl;
cout << “Define X: ” << endl;
cin >> x;
cout << “Define Y: ” << endl;
cin >> y;
cout << “You have defined X as: ” << x << endl << “and Y as: ” << y << endl;
}
// Now an attempt to switch the variables.
//
int variableswitch (int a, int b)
{
cout << “This function will attempt to switch the values of variables X and Y.” << endl;
a = x;
b = y;
x = b;
y = a;
}
int main ()
{
variabledefine ();
x, y = variableswitch (x, y);
cout << “X is now: ” << x << endl;
cout << “Y is now: ” << y << endl;
return 0;
}
Woop woop !

Quick update!
One by one, all my firends (plural ! :P) are disappearing off to university. Some have already left, but the majority go this weekend. So, weve all got together for a few last meets, one of which was last night at the local pub in Ickenham, the Tich. Was good to see everyone again.
NB: do NOT buy spitifre from this pub. Theres something funny about it at the Tich.
Tonight im meeting with a slightly different group of homies at pizza express for…well…I guess pizza. Might go round someones and watch a film or something afterwards.
Spent today reading part of the Feynman lectures. Just finished chapter 7 about planetry motion and the tides etc. And I made my Ipod shuffle work in Ubuntu
At terminal: sudo apt-get install gtkpod
gtkpod
If you drag and drop files using the file manager explorer thingy, it wont work.
Time for some shredding

Badly bruised my toe last night. Walking down the stairs and slipped - my big toe went under my foot and went crunch. Nought broke, just a bad bruise (I hope!)
I had some work on friday. My Dad’s friend was digging some foundations in his back garden, and I was wheelbarrowing the dirt from the digger to the front of the house. Worked for most of the day and made a few quid from it.
I was going to have more work this week, but I cant because of my toe
ooooooooh, and Im getting one of these in the post ![]()

Well actually it was my third, but I cant be arsed to change the title.
The site were working on is quite large. The entire house and grounds are being done / redone / gutted.
The guys doing the house and garages are all polish workers, so today I decided to have a chat with some of them over lunch. I chatted to Bodgeit and Scarpa and hteir english wasnt too bad.
OK, so noones actually called that, but hte Poles certainly get up to some funny shit. When hte new bath for hte house was being put in, one of htem tested it :S
These guys live in (im sure) the garage on site, have a sky TV dish hooked up and have a microwave - the woman designing the grounds and house brings them food !
They also spend most of the day smoking
Really enjoying my job, the guys I work with are a laugh and we get the work done which is really rewarding.
Tomorrow - guitar. As I got the day off ![]()
