Its doing gardening for a guy I know. Were doing hte garden of hte guy who bought cable & wireless :O

I like it – were outdoors (theres 3 of us), and its very satisfying seeing results from your work.

So yesterday headed up to London with the Hayes and Hounslow possie for me birthday. First we went on the London Eye, which had some amasing views across the Thames and surrounding london – will have to try it out at night some time

Then we headed off to Burger King (XL Double bacon cheese supersize) before going to the BBC proms. The Proms was an evening of Mozart – a bit of a deviation from my usual choice of heavy metal, but very good and enjoyable nonetheless.

Good company, food and music

The papers over here in England are making the usual noise about A levels. Every year more students pass, every year more kids are getting A’s. The government claims its because kids are getting smarter – but its not.

A levels are being dumbed (GCSEs too). Eg, during GCSE maths, Standard deviation was taken off our syllabus. Just gone. Nothing replaced it.

And Maths A levels – a couple of years ago, there were 3 Core (algebra) modules we had to take, and 3 optional. Now the core has been split into 4 modules and were allowed two optional. Its been watered down.

Why is the government doing this? Why cant A levels just be left alone – maths doesnt change (not at A level). Probably someone in the government who wants to ‘leave their mark’. Twats.

Also, schools are cutting out harder A level courses and encouraging student to take more bullshit courses, like Business Studies, Media Studies etc. This makes the school look better as more students are gaining A levels, but its leaving a void in the jobs market – Only so many people can write TV reviews.

But hey, I dont mind, If I pass my physics degree I can do anything I want

I have to sya, Im really enjoying this new band im in.Its a lot bigger than my old one (7 people compared to 4) and theyre all cool. Theres two other guitarists apart from me and theyre both damn good, which means we can play harmonies, solos etc.

Talking of which, heres something we recorded on friday. I think my solo (2:20) sould have been a lot better, as I was feeling kinda hungover when we did it….

So here I am kicking backi n the Italen Alps. I say kicking back, I mean walking up and down mountiains. The views are amasing and the exercise wont kill me (I hope!!)

Im wih my dad and a friend of his and his son. Were doing a package holiday by a company called Collets. Weve been looked after great, the room is good (We have hot water :0), and the food is awesome – we have a professional chef cooking for us

Were walking along a mountain range called the Via Ferratas – basically a light rock climb but your attached to a steel rope thats stuck in the side of the mountain.

Just got my results, 3 C’s – maths, physics, biology. Shit – my offer was ABB

Just rang York and they said it was ok, so next year im off to York to do a BSc Physics

Setting up my main computer to Dual Boot FC5 today. Started by making my slave40GB HD FAT32 and copying all my music, videos, tv etc (media), to it. This should mean I can listen to me tunes while on linux

Now Im copying my 20GB of media across. And it will take 205 minutes. Next computer will be SCSI ! Apparently its fast + you can have more than 4 devices per motherboard.

Also repartitioning thinkpad, which means reinstalling. Thats almost finished. Ill do a detailed post about how I did this with a plethora of links. Once Ive repartioned (I need more swap, 400MB should do it), Ill get X running and put blackbox on.

And my Megadeth CD came in the post today! Well happy :D

EDIT: This post should be before completely switched to linux. My bad.

In an attempt to dual boot my system, the repartitioning failed. So now Im 100% linux!

And I seem to be doing alright. Edited fstab to get access to my slave devices, works fine now.

However, I would still like to dual boot, because linux has no decent guitar tab editors. But I have no hologram!Will have to find tha shiny sticker…..
