Dropped off my mum at Gatwick airport today. I was quite impressed that I did it in 40 minutes without speeding.

Unfortunately the return journey took a bit longer, just over 2 hours. This was due to a combination of the odd wrong turn (Im sure the signs were wrong!), and then hit a traffic jam.

Made it in the end and is my longest journey yet

While thinking about a JoT about just how you tube are able to afford their bandwidth fees, I realised that every bit of information zapped across the internet twice. The person sending it pays their ISP to send it and the person receiving it also pays their ISP to receive it.

Decided to start learning to code again, but using C++ rather than C.

Got a book out form the library on how to do it. Its a good book, although it gets quite complicated quite quickly.

Hardest part so far was working out that I had to use g++ rather than gcc to compile. Well…I didnt work it out….the guys on c++ on efnet did =)

Friday night was spent meeting my new band, Winterfell. After arriving half an hour late to Pang’s chinese we all tucked into all you can eat Several plates and many ice creams later we headed of to one of their houses and played hacky sack. Id never played this before, but eventually picked it up.
Yesterday was Niges 21st. Headed off to gunnersbury park for a picnic and cake. After lunch dave organised a football match. Ended up being young vs old and ended with a draw. After being setup severla times I eventualy knocked two in :D, with steve and adrian scoring most of the goals for our side.

Today was spent learning a Megadeth song, Symphony of destruction. Manged to memorise it quickly, but the timings to a while to get. Edguy’s lavatory love machine tomorrow, and powerquest’s temple of fire on thursday. Boo Yah!

I passed

5 minors, including one for revving, one for steering, and one for almost clipping a bus (it was my right of way :O)

But yeah, I passed

Ive not given up on my blog, but have been quite busy of late:

• Holidaying - got back from newquay two days ago. Currently writing a nice long post about it. Might break it up in to several posts.
• Teching - fixed up the Thinkpad 560E. It now runs debian in text only / terminal. Working on getting blackbox going.
• Driving - got my driving test tomorrow. Wish me luck
• Rocking - got a new band called WinterFell. Powermetal. Meeting them on friday for chinese and will hopefully start palying next week. Hence Ive been practicing hard to make sure I dont look too stupid.

Thats about it. Will post about the thinkpad, how I got it working etc, once I have the GUI up. Will try and post from it

The sequal to Underworld. A good fantasy / sci-fi (?).

The story is interesting, although could be more developed. Special effects are pretty damn good, and theirs lots of violence and gore

Thought the acting was mediocre, but Kate Beckinsale walking around in tight leather more than made up for it.

Alas, it was not as good as Underworld, but then again sequals never are.

Altogether I thought it was a good film, well worth torrenting, especially if you liked Underworld.

So today had some guys from school (can I say that now I have no mroe school ?) came round and we watched 6 hours worth of southpark. Took a break halfway through to get some pizza - I shared a steak pizza (a mans pizza).

So yeah, watched some the the classic episodes - Cartman gets an anal probe, scuzzlebut and others

Then watched a stand up comedian called Russell Peters, very funny.

good time had by all
